PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION
River City Church is seeking a Director of Communication who is eager to invite others into a life-giving relationship with Jesus through written and visual mediums. This role will provide oversight and leadership direction to the communication strategy at River City Church.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Creation & Management
- Write compelling, high-quality content and copy for all media channels
- Create compelling graphics for sermon series, events, and mailers
- Oversee photography + videography efforts for media channels, especially during key events in the ministry calendar
- Develop and implement content calendars for all media channels in collaboration with staff team
- Provide oversight to lay leadership event planning submissions
Website & Digital Presence
- Manage church website, including regular copy updates, event calendar, and pages
- Facilitate relationship with SEO Marketing Company
- Facilitate relationship with branding agency for as-needed project work
Reporting & Training
- Provide detailed quarterly reports to the church board and staff of digital content performance, effectiveness, and reach/visibility.
- Provide annual training to staff and lay leaders to ensure all church communication is within brand and communication best practices
QUALIFICATIONS
Spiritual and Personal Qualifications
- Fulfills the scriptural qualifications of a deacon (1 Timothy 3:8-13)
- Commitment to becoming a member of River City Church who pursues Church Covenant
- Agreement with River City Church’s Statement of Faith and discipleship pathways
- Strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and regularly articulates that relationship
Professional Experience and Skills
- 1-2years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field(preferred)
- Photography/Videography experience (preferred)
- Proficient in creating activating campaigns through Mailchimp
- Proficient in Canva or similar graphic suites
- Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite
- Has experience in Google Analytics (preferred)

- Proficient in managing multiple projects, deadlines, and prioritizing tasks
COMPENSATION & DETAILS
- Reports to: Associate Pastor
- Direct Reports: None
- Salaried, part-time position (10 hours/week)
- Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications
