PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
River City Church is seeking a Director of Worship who is passionate about leading others into authentic and life-giving worship ofJesus. This role will provide oversight and leadership direction to the Worship& AV Ministry, oversee the creation of Christ-centered worship services and special programs, and coordinate service details in collaboration with the pastoral team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning and Execution of Services
- Work with the pastoral team to plan and execute meaningful Sunday gatherings and special services
- Facilitate efficient and effective rehearsals
- Participate in leading the set-up and tear-down process of Sunday gatherings
- Provide support to AV tasks as needed
- Foster engagement with the congregation through worship services and special events, encouraging participation and feedback
Team Management and Development
- Cultivate relationships with Worship + AV Team Members
- Steward the gifts of Worship + AV Team members through encouragement and provision of opportunities for growth and development
- Manage volunteer scheduling for programs, weekend services, and special events
- Oversee the recruitment and onboarding of new team members
- Provide leadership and guidance to our Worship + AV Coaches
- Participate and disciple volunteers who are in our Worship & AV leadership pipeline
Operational Oversight
- Oversee the use of the Worship Ministry Budget throughout the year
- Oversee the maintenance and upgrade of AV equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and integration
QUALIFICATIONS
Spiritual and Personal Qualifications
- Fulfills the scriptural qualifications of a deacon (1 Timothy 3:8-13)
- Strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and regularly articulates that relationship
- Agreement with River City Church’s Statement of Faith and discipleship process
- Commitment to becoming a member of River City Church who pursues Church Covenant
- Ability to relate to and lead worship for a diverse congregation, being open to incorporating various cultural expressions of worship
Experience and Skills
- 5+ years of experience leading worship vocally and instrumentally
- Proficient in Planning Center Services
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team effectively
- Skills in managing conflicts and facilitating a positive and collaborative team environment
- Experience in managing projects and coordinating multiple aspects of worship services and events
Preferred Qualifications
- Audio/Visual Experience
- Experience with operating and implementing a click track
- Songwriting experience
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in ministry, bible, or another related field
COMPENSATION & DETAILS
- Reports to: Senior Pastor
- Directo Reports: None
- Salaried, Part-time position (25 hours/week)
- Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications ($25,000-$32,000)
